Raashi Khanna is Dhanush's high school classmate in Thiruchitrambalam

The team of director Mithran Jawahar's upcoming film Thiruchitrambalam has begun revealing the characters from the film. The plot of the film is said to be set in two time periods - the college days and adulthood of the protagonist, which is being played by Dhanush. Thiruchitrambalam has three leading ladies, Nithya Menon, Raashi Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The team began with the introduction of Raashi Khanna's character in the film. She plays Dhanush's high school classmate, Anusha. 

The production house released the character poster with the caption, "Meet ANUSHA played by @raashiikhanna. #Thiruchitrambalam @dhanushkraja @anirudhofficial #mithranRjawahar @nithyamenen @joinprakashraj #bharathiraja #jacki @raashiikhanna @priyabhavanishankar @omdop @editor_prasannagk @sreyas88 @kavyasriraam @kabilanchelliah (sic)."

Dhanush had shared a picture of himself looking at a poster of Ilaiyaraaja and had written, "Thiruchitrambalam .. character introductions from Tom (sic)." The actor is said to be playing a fan of the Isaignani. Anirudh Ravichander, who is a frequent collaborator with Dhanush, is scoring the music for the film. Om Prakash, who had cranked the camera for Dhanush's previous films, Anegan, Maari, Maari 2 and Pattas, will be handling the cinematography. Prasanna GK, who made his debut with Dhanush's Maari, directed by Balaji Mohan, will handle the editing. This is the fourth time that Dhanush is collaborating with Mithran Jawahar after Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Uthamaputhiran and Kutty. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and is being released by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.

Interestingly, it was not long ago that fans of Dhanush had expressed their disappointment over the lack of updates about the film. The production house soon jumped into action and announced that they will be revealing the character posters from the film.

In the meantime, Dhanush is awaiting the release of his Hollywood film, The Gray Man, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, popularly known as the Russo Brothers. Dhanush will share screen space with Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura to name a few.
