Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders is an upcoming crime thriller sequel starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Inspector Jatil Yadav. For the unversed, the film picks up from the 2020 original, where Siddiqui's character faces a new murder case. After the teaser, the makers unveiled the trailer for Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders on December 9.
The 2-minute and 21-second trailer of Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders opens with the brutal murders of the Bansal family that shook the entire society, while the survivors have different names as suspects.
Now comes Inspector Jatil Yadav, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is surrounded by suspects as he realises that everyone in this case has something to hide. When Yadav interrogates the witnesses, they sound like suspects. While investigating, he also faces the case of black magic, suggested by Deepti Naval, who plays the role of a Guru Maa. Inspector Yadav promises himself to uncover the truth behind the slaughtering murder.
Speaking about his Inspector Jatil Yadav role in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, Nawazuddin said that Jatil may have evolved in every way, but his resolve is exactly the same. The actor admired Yadav's objectivity, his razor-sharp eye for detail, and his ability to cut through noise remain his greatest weapons.
"Even when power, influence, and intimidation close in on him, he refuses to let anything derail his search for the truth. Returning to the character felt thrilling, and I want to thank Honey and Netflix for bringing this story back with higher stakes. We are excited to present a new case to the fans in hopes they give us the same, if not more, love this time around as well," he said.
Chitrangda Singh plays Meera and her character is one of the most interesting and challenging ones as she said. There is a sense of fragility and toughness all at once in her role.
As per her, this character lives in shadows- emotional, moral, and psychological. "There are many layers to Meera, she has a lot to say, there are things she’s at the cusp of revealing but cannot for fear. I am thankful to both Honey and Netflix for giving me the chance to play a complex character like this," Singh added.

Meanwhile, Radhika Apte's role as Radha adds depth to the mystery while she continues her complex dynamic with Jatil. She said that this time around, Radha's role has evolved from a woman once scrutinised and doubted to someone rooted in love, stability, and self-assurance. "The character brings emotional continuity to the story, while her quiet strength reveals new layers in Jatil, reminding him of who he was and who he is becoming," she added.
