Bengal’s love for thrillers continues. What's more, now a thriller gets a Tagore connection in Sayantan Ghoshal’s upcoming film, Rabindra Kabya Rahasya, with Eskay Movies. A portion of the film that delves into the history of the time of Tagore was shot in London this summer. The film was planned to begin last year with Parambrata Chatterjee as Rabindranath Tagore. However, that schedule was postponed and now Ritwick Chakraborty, Srabanti and others will be seen in the key roles.

This will be Ritwick and Srabanti’s second film together after Teko. Priyangshu Chatterjee has replaced Parambrata to portray the character of Rabindranath Tagore. Besides, the film will also feature Bidipta Chakraborty, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, and others. Rabindra Kabya Rahasya is slated to release by the end of this year.

According to media reports, the film will portray Tagore’s Noble acceptance period in flashback. Actors Rwitobroto Mukhopadhyay and Shantilal Mukhopadhyay will be seen in black and white portrayals, while Rajnandini Pal will appear in a special role. The film will portray Tagore between the ages of 29 to 79 years. For this, the team has created six different looks for the protagonist.

Rabindra Kabya Rahasya is a contemporary murder mystery that has a connection to a 100-year-old serial killing case. Every murder in the film has some connection with Rabindranath Tagore. Ritwick Chakraborty, who plays the character of a crime thriller writer goes to London to help the police to solve a murder. There he meets Srabanti, who is a Rabindrasangeet singer.

The script is dotted with historical references and is penned by Sougato Basu. Debojyoti Mishra is composing the score of the film. The makers intend to shoot at Jorasanko Thakurbari, the Tagore family's ancestral home.

The director Sayantan is known for his tryst with detective thrillers. His previous works like Jawker Dhan, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan, Alinagarer Golokdhadha and Satyanweshi Byomkesh have been widely appreciated by audiences. He directed the first three seasons of Byomkesh on Hoichoi and his series Lalbazaar is currently streaming on ZEE5.
