Several highly anticipated Malayalam films are set to release in theatres in the first half of 2025. However, few films have announced their release dates. Now, the makers of Rachel, starring Honey Rose in the lead role, have announced that the film is set to hit the theatres in January 2025.
Helmed by debutante Anandhini Bala, the film is set to hit the big screens on January 10, 2025. The film, led by Honey Rose, is bankrolled by noted filmmaker Abrid Shine along with Badusha N M, and Rajan Chirayil. Abrid Shine, who has helmed noted films such as Nivin Pauly-starrer 1983 and Action Hero Biju, has also co-written the screenplay for Rachel along with Rahul Manappatt.
While making the announcement, the team also shared a new poster of Rachel featuring Honey Rose. Check out the poster:
Apart from Honey Rose, the film also features Radhika Radhakrishnan, Babu Raj, Kalabhavan Shajon, Roshan Basheer, Chandu Salimkumar, Jaffar Idukki, Vineeth Thattil, and Joji in supporting roles.
The film is touted to be a revenge drama. Honey Rose plays the titular character of Rachel, who is seeking revenge, but the reason for her quest has not been revealed. In the teaser of the film, that was released earlier this year, Honey Rose’s character is heard talking about a ‘pair of red eyes that she saw in the dark and that it was not a dream.’ When another character asks her who that person is, Rachel says she does not know but intends to find out. The teaser then features several tense and suspenseful moments.
Meanwhile, the popular actress also has another film DNA in the pipeline. The film, which is also said to be a thriller, is directed by TS Suresh Babu.
Honey Rose was last seen in Rani: The Real Story, which featured an ensemble cast including Urvashi, Bhavana, Indrans, Guru Somasundaram, Maniyanpilla Raju, Niyathi Kadambi, and Anumol. You can watch the investigative thriller on Manorama Max and OTTplay Premium as well.
