The makers of the upcoming Malayalam thriller, Rachel, unveiled a new release date today (November 26). The movie, which has been rescheduled for mid-December, stars Honey Rose as the lead. A new poster revealed the date of release.

The revenge thriller helmed by debutante Anandhini Bala will be released in theatres on December 12. The date for its release has been revealed following multiple delays for unknown reasons. Just two weeks before, Rachel's official release date was slated for December 6. However, it was recently postponed once more for unclear reasons. In the meantime, it's evident that the filmmakers wish to avoid conflicting with a few other releases during the same week, such as the eagerly awaited Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty.
No other Malayalam film is currently slated to debut on December 12. In addition to Kalamkaval, Indrajith Sukumaran's Dheeram and Sharaf U Dheen's Khajuraaho Dreams will be released on December 5. Bha Bha Ba, Dileep's eagerly awaited film, is another film with a scheduled December release date.

The actress's compelling and captivating portrayal of Rachel in the film's teaser has fans thrilled. The clip shows its protagonist, Rachel, recalling fiery eyes in the shadows. She is adamant that they are a part of her dreams and that she will always remember them. By the end of the video, Rachel is determined to find him and kill him giving a vengeful look on her face. The supporting cast of the movie includes Radhika Radhakrishnan, Babu Raj, Kalabhavan Shajon, Roshan Basheer, Chandu Salimkumar, Jaffar Idukki, Vineeth Thattil, Joji, and Dinesh Prabhakar. Rahul Manappatt and director Abrid Shine wrote the screenplay for the movie.
Honey Rose stated that this type of narrative and character will be shown to Malayali viewers for the first time in a previous interview with Kochi Times. Her most recent films were Pookkaalam and Rani: The Real Story, which released in 2023.
