In the last few days, the team of the Kannada film Sanju Weds Geetha 2, including director Nagashekar and leading man Srinagara Kitty, had gone to town with claims that the heroine Rachita Ram had refused to support them during the re-release and was, hence, absent from all promotional activity. Shortly after Nagashekar filed a complaint with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce seeking action against Rachita, filmmaker Vijayalakshmi Urs was also in the news, as she was seeking either a refund of the advance she paid the actress for the film Uppi Rupee or a solution to completing her now stalled movie.
Rachita has now taken to social media to clarify her position in these matters. Addressing her fans, the Dimple Queen said that she was immensely hurt by the allegations levelled against her by the team of Sanju Weds Geetha 2, given that she was more than cooperative during the original release in January this year. Back then, she said, the team was all praise for her commitment to the film, so it surprises her that they now have nothing good to say about her.
The actress adds that she worked on Sanju Weds Geetha 2 for close to two years and sometime during the making, she had another film up for release. At the time, when the rest of the film team gathered for promotions, it was Nagashekar and Kitty who refused to let her go even for a day. Rachita says that as far as she is concerned, she believes she has done what was required for Sanju Weds Geetha 2 promotions.
As for the re-release, the actress says that the team of her current film commitment urged her not to go, since it would upset their schedule, artiste coordination, location permissions, etc. Rachita adds that she does not think she is in the wrong, as she continued to post Sanju Weds Geetha 2 related material on her social media handles.
The issue with Vijayalakshmi Urs, meanwhile, is currently being mediated by former Chamber president Sa Ra Govindu, so, until there is a solution on that front, Rachita is not in a position to publicly speak about it.
