Krishna Ajai Rao has been a leading man in Kannada cinema since 2003’s Excuse Me, but it took him more than 2 decades to finally attempt to break free of the shackles of being branded a lover boy with Radheyaa. The crime drama written, directed and produced by Vedaguru Murthy came out on November 21, 2025, had Ajai Rao in the role of a serial killer, who confesses to nearly 3 dozen killings and explored his motivations behind this murderous spree. One of 6-7 Kannada film releases in that week, Radheyaa, did not capture the attention of moviegoers, but it has managed an OTT deal.
As of January 8, 2026, Radheyaa will begin streaming on Sun NXT (also via OTTplay Premium), which is, incidentally, home to most of Ajai Rao’s best films to date, except his production venture Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2. The film also stars Dhanya Balakrishnan, Sonal Monteiro, Giri Shivanna, Aravind Rao, among others, and features cinematography by Rammy and music by Viyan SA.

Ajai plays the title character Radheyaa, a man who surrenders to the police claiming to have committed 3 dozen murders. While in custody, he continues with his murder spree, and then seeks out a crime reporter, played by Dhanya, to tell his story in all honesty. How Radheyaa turned to a life of violence after a troubled childhood is at the core of the tale, as he seeks execution and not mercy for his deeds.
Radheyaa was Ajai’s second release of the year, after Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, with the latter said to have made in the vicinity of Rs 3 crore, following fairly positive reviews. Radheyaa, though, did not fare well.
