Radheyaa out on OTT: Krishna Ajai Rao’s tale of a serial killer is now streaming

Krishna Ajai Rao as a serial killer with over 40 murders to his credit – that was the line that had the actor fall hook line and sinker for the role in Radheyaa . Ajai, who’s been known for his lover boy roles in films like Krishnan Love Story, Krishnan Marriage Story and so on and so forth, has been looking for avenues to break out of this Mr Goody Two Shoes image. When it finally came, two decades since his filmi career began, he grabbed it with both hands. Director Veda Guru’s Radheyaa released in November, months after Ajai’s low-key successful production venture, Yudhakaanda Chapter 2, so the expectation was that it would be a part of the actor’s pursuit of variety and box office numbers.

Radheyaa out now on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium

The role was, no doubt, vastly different, and, according to reports, Ajai was quite convincing as the serial killer haunted by childhood trauma. But released along with 6-7 other Kannada films, it floundered in theatres. The film got picked up for streaming by Sun NXT, though, a platform that hosts most of Ajai’s movies and as of January 8, 2026, it’s begun streaming. The film is also available to stream via OTTplay Premium.

Ajai was joined by Sonal Monteiro, Dhanya Balakrishna, Giri Shivanna, Aravind Rao, Bala Rajwadi, Bhavani Prakash, among others on the cast. He played the title role, Radheyaa, a serial killer who surrenders before the cops out of the blue, claiming responsibility for 3 dozen unsolved murders. Even in jail, his murderous spree continues and he then seeks out a crime reporter to narrate his story and his motivations for each kill. Is Radheyaa a product of childhood neglect and abuse or something more sinister? That’s what the film delves into.

Radheyaa is the first Kannada release on the platform this year. It’s recent additions include I Am God, Arasayyana Prema Prasanga, Usiru, Ekka, X&Y, Kamaro 2, Gowrishankara, Doora Theera Yaana, Maatonda Heluve, Kapata Nataka Sutradhari, among others.
