Rafiath Rashid Mithila is an A-lister actress from Bangladesh. Many people in India are also amazed by her acting skills. She is a scholar and works in global development in countries in Africa and Asia.

Mithila’s film O Abhagi was released at the beginning of April. The film is based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's short story Abhagir Sworgo. Mithila plays the protagonist here. Her acting was acclaimed. Now, she was awarded at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival.

The 14th Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival took place in Delhi. Mithila was awarded the best actress here. She was elated to get the award. However, she is in Bangladesh right now and hence could not be present at the festival. The film's director and producer took the award on her behalf.

In a video message, Mithila said, “It is with great joy that I want to tell everybody that I was awarded the best actress at the 14th Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in Delhi. I got the award for the film O Abhagi. I want to thank the film's director Anirban Chakraborty, producer Dr Prabir Bhowmik, and the entire team.”

Mithila said about the film, “The film portrays the exploitation of women, especially if they are Dalits. Hence women like Abhagi dream of Yama. They know that they can't dream in this world.”

In the film, RJ Sayan, Debjani Chatterjee, RJ Jinia, Krishna Banerjee, and Sourav Halder play other roles. The film portrays the problems of caste discrimination in India. It also shows the lack of health services and the cruelty of death. Mithila is married to Indian director Srijit Mukherji.
