The release of Santhosh Ananddram's Raghavendra Stores has been marred with confusion. The comedy-drama starring Jaggesh and Shwetha Srivatsav was initially meant to release in August of 2022 but the same was prematurely deferred due to undisclosed reasons. Some say that the former's cryptic and slightly unsavoury comments regarding Hombale Films (with respect to Kantara), the producers of the film, caused the production house to put the release on the back burner and eventually decide on bringing the film straight on OTT - the team, however, is yet to formally discuss the delay in the release.

However, turns out that the original plans are back in place as Raghavendra Stores finally itself a theatrical release. The makers made the all-important announcement earlier today, on March 17th, on the special occasion of Jaggesh's 60th birthday.

Raghavendra Stores will release in theatres on April 28th (2023). In the same vein, Hombale Films revealed that the first single of the film will soon make its way out.

Netizens, too, are slightly puzzled about these developments with many stating that they believed Raghavendra Stores to be a direct OTT release. Some of them even commented that the whole back-and-forth thing seems a little uncharacteristic of Hombale Films, who are known to be quite disciplined and organised about their approach.

Nevertheless, Raghavendra Stores will hit the big screens as originally planned. The Santhosh Ananddram film is a comedic take on an ageing cook's romanceless life and much of the film, one gathers, is about his hunt for love. Shwetha Srivatsav, who is making a gradual comeback to mainstream cinema, plays the female lead.

Santhosh Ananddram, an integral member of the Hombale family who has previously made the films Raajakumaara and Yuvarathnaa for the production house, would hope that his off-beat attempt passes the theatrical release test.

Ajaneesh B. Loknath serves as the music composer with Shreesha Kuduvalli and Deepu S. Kumar handling cinematography and editing respectively.
