Raghu Dakat: Dhrubo Banerjee to start shooting the film with Dev

Dhrubo Banerjee's Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jiyo was released last month. All the other films made by Dhrubo were simply superhits, but the last film garnered mixed reviews. It was heard before that Dhrubo was preparing for a film on Raghu Dakat. But later it was rumored that the film was shelved. Now it is heard that its shooting will soon start.

The film Golondaj, directed by Dhrubo and starring Dev, was released two years back. It was during that time that Dhrubo announced that he would make a film on Raghu Dakat with Dev in the titular role. But the work was postponed. Dhrubo said that he wished to take time keeping the budget in mind. Now it is heard that the director and his team finished the primary works on the screenplay and had one round of meetings with the producer. 

The shooting may start in April 2024. Srijit Mukherji will start shooting his new film with Dev and Rukmini. After that work ends, Dev can join Dhrubo's project. 

But there are some speculations. Srijit already announced that his film with Dev and Rukmini would come next Durga Puja. On the other hand, apart from Kabuliwala, Raghu Dakat is the biggest project of SVF and hence it is likely to be released during Puja. Will Dev agree to release two of his films at the same time? Most probably not. Hence, it remains to see which film releases when.
