Ragini Dwivedi: I've always tried to be different with my work and that continues with Sorry Karma Returns

Ragini Dwivedi’s comeback film in Kannada is Sorry Karma Returns, directed by Brahma, which she’s begun working on in November last year. The film, according to the actress, is a unique revenge saga with a social message, which the makers are now pushing as Kannada cinema’s first superhero flick. Ragini had earlier said that she has an action block in the film, which, as it turns out, has been shot using motion capture technology.

The team recently had its first media interaction, where they all remained tight-lipped about the subject of the film. Speaking to the media, Ragini said that her objective has always been to support different and innovative cinema. “If you look at my career and the characters I have chosen to play, they are all different from each other and belong to a variety of genres – be it action, romance, offbeat, etc. If I find something different in a subject, I have always tried to push its cause. Sometimes, it has led me to success, and at others to failure. But if you start measuring each step on success and failure, you can’t build a career or make a living. As an actor, you need to keep experimenting and taking up the opportunities to do different roles. Only then will you be an artiste with a long journey,” she said.

The actress, who has been in the industry for 11 years, credits her openness to experimentation as the reason for this longevity. “I am still around because I am willing to take risks. With Sorry Karma Returns, I believed in an idea and that they are trying to do something different. I recognized the passion that this team has. I am extremely proud that this film that I am associated with is bringing motion capture technology to Kannada cinema,” she added.
