Kannada filmmaker Prashant Raj is Kollywood-bound with actor Santhanam’s 15th film, tentatively titled #Santa15, which went on floors this week. The film has Tanya Hope as the leading lady, and now we hear that Prashant has roped in Ragini Dwivedi for a special number that will be shot in Bengaluru.

According to sources close to the project, though, Prashant’s Tamil debut is with the remake of one of his earlier films. #Santa15, we are told, is the remake of Zoom, which had Golden Star Ganesh and Radhika Pandit in the lead. The romantic comedy had Ganesh and Radhika as feuding advertising professionals, one who relies on street savvy behaviour and the other on hard work, who eventually fall in love. Zoom was the remake of the 1961 Hollywood flick Lover Come Back. The source adds that Ragini will have a short, but glamorous role in the film, along with the special song.

Speaking to us earlier, Tanya had said, “I am soon heading to Sri Lanka and Thailand for my next in Tamil, which is with Santhanam and is being directed by Kannada filmmaker Prashant Raj. This untitled film is a romantic comedy and follows a tried-and-tested formula. The script is sweet and funny and Santhanam is a comedy king. I think this kind of film is the need of the hour, where people can just laugh and feel a little love.”

Ragini, meanwhile, will soon be seen opposite Sundar C in the Tamil film One 2 One, as well as a Malayalam-Kannada bilingual suspense revenge thriller called Sheela, in which she plays a single mother on a mission. Sheela marks Ragini’s return to Malayalam cinema after Face 2 Face. In Kannada, the actress has been working on an action thriller called Sorry – Karma Returns, in which she sports a deglam look and is also slated to be a part of the multi-lingual crime thriller Johnny Walker with Abhay Veer, as well as the next instalment in the Karva franchise, Karva 3.
