Rahul Dev on Abhay 3: Successful franchise made me say yes to the series

Rahul Dev, who recently joined the cast of the web series Abhay 3, spoke at length about his experience. He explained to Mid Day that he said yes to the series since the first and second seasons were well received and Abhay is a well-established and successful franchise.

Dev shared that for his role, the director, Ken Ghosh, helped him. The actor said that the filmmaker has a crackling sense of comedy, which contrasts sharply with his director image. While praising Kunal Kemmu, Dev said that the actor stays true to his roots. 

He revealed that he didn't share much screen time with the rest of the actors because the story didn't allow his character to interact with them much. Abhay 3, on the other hand, said it was a fantastic experience for him.

Earlier, in a statement, Dev had said that he was ecstatic to be a part of Abhay 3 and to collaborate with Ken and Kunal. This series has established a standard, and he is convinced that season three will raise the bar even higher, as it is unlike anything else seen before.

The actor went on to say, without giving away spoilers, that at this point, one doesn't know much about the character except that he's a guy of few words. Abhay is a hugely popular franchise with a devoted fan base. Thus, he is thrilled to be a member of this unique series and the ZEE5 family.

He went on to praise the show's director, saying that he had enjoyed working with Ken; he's a director with a sharp eye for detail and a witty sense of humor. He is excited to be a part of this successful series and is looking forward to seeing how the audience reacts. 

Abhay Season 3 is premiering on ZEE5 in April this year.
