Raid 2 is one of the most anticipated films of 2025. Starring Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead roles, the film is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster, Raid. It will hit theaters on May 1, 2025. The high-octane crime thriller film has been receiving attention ever since the trailer was released. Ahead of the release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanded two dialogue changes while retaining all action and violent scenes.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not ask Raid 2 makers to remove any visual cuts, and that means all action and violent scenes will be intact in the film. However, CBFC demanded two dialogue changes. The makers are to replace ‘Railway Mantri’ with ‘Bada Mantri’, and the eight-second ‘Paisa, hathyar, taakat’ dialogue at the very beginning of the film was also asked to be removed. Meanwhile, the film is 2 hours 30 minutes and 53 minutes long.
The 2-minute and 34-second trailer of Raid 2 introduces Ajay Devgn reprising his IRS officer Amay Patnaik. In a tough fight against a Rs 4,200 crore scam, he is set to target a white-collar criminal, Dadabhai (Riteish Deshmukh). The faceoff between Ajay and Ritiesh's characters will be an interesting aspect to watch.
In an earlier exclusive chat with OTTplay, director Raj Kumar Gupta praised Ajay Devgn and said that he realized Ajay is a very intelligent actor since Raid, and he knows what kind of film he is doing.
"He is always in character, whichever part he is playing. He is someone who is always prepared on the sets. He is well aware of the film, of the surroundings, the milieu of the movie, and more," Gupta added.
Meanwhile, Raid 2 also features Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Yashpal Sharma in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar and presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film is set to release theatrically on May 1, 2025.
