Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 is about to beat Akshay Kumar's Kesari: Chapter 2 total Box Office collection too

Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 continues its amazing run at the Box Office. The movie might not have crossed Rs. 100 crore mark within the first weekend, but it has come extremely close to that. In fact, Raid 2 has become Gangaajal actor Ajay Devgn's second highest post-pandemic opener since Singham Again.
Over its first weekend, Raid 2 has earned over Rs. 70 crore. The movie has minted Rs. 70.75 crore within four days, according to Sacnilk. This happened when the movie witnessed a massive jump in Box Office collections over the first Sunday. It earned Rs. 21.50 crore on Sunday itself. This is after minting Rs. 49.25 crore at the Box Office by the first Saturday.
Rohit Shetty's Singham Again is the only post-pandemic release featuring Ajay Devgn that managed to enter Rs. 100 crore club over the first weekend. The movie had minted Rs. 121.75 crore over the first weekend, and Raid 2 has beaten all of his weekend openings, including Drishyam 2 (which had earned Rs. 64.14 crore over the first weekend), Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (Rs. 61.93 crore) and even Shaitaan (Rs. 54 crore).
Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 is very close to beating Welcome actor Akshay Kumar's film Kesari: Chapter 2's total Box Office collection so far. Kesari 2 has earned Rs. 80 crore over the third weekend, and Raid 2 might already mint that Box Office within a day or two. However, the real test for Raid 2 begins since it has to pass the Monday litmus test to know if the movie can actually withstand the weekdays and enter Rs. 100 crore club within the next few days. Given the current trend, Raid 2 might also take a few more days (or at least till Friday) to reach there. However, if there is only a slight drop, Raid 2 could end up in Rs. 100 crore club sooner than we know. If that happens, we are likely to find a hit, for the movie is already made on a budget of Rs. 120 crore, and it would have recovered the money and will be earning additional profits after.
Whether Raid 2 could make history like Chhaava is a big question for now. The Vicky Kaushal starrer has become the third-highest grossing Bollywood film after beating Jawan at the Box Office and that is a huge milestone given the current Box Office trend. But looking at Raid 2's performance despite limited screens, the possibility cannot be completely ruled out. The Monday Box Office would give a clearer idea on the same.
