Raid 2 by Raj Kumar Gupta continues the story of the 2018 criminal drama Raid, which had begun streaming on Netflix on June 26, 2025. Amay Patnaik, played by Ajay Devgn again, is an honest Indian Revenue Service officer who fights corruption in a system that promotes it. This time, he faces up against Riteish Deshmukh's iconic portrayal of revered politician Dada Manohar Bhai—a considerably more formidable adversary.

Raid gone wrong sets the stage

The film begins in 1989 in Rajasthan during an unsuccessful raid on the estate of a former monarch. However, Patnaik was working on a larger plan, of which the botched operation was only a part. He takes a bribe to move closer to his true objective by being relocated to Bhoj, Dada Bhai's stronghold.

Dada Bhai, a minister who was once a shoemaker, has enormous public support and presents himself in a very charitable light. But Patnaik thinks his wealth is ill-gotten. A game of high-stakes deceit, red tape, and political clout is about to unfold.

Signs of something bigger in Bhoj

Unharvested fields, questionable assets, and a monument that seems like solid gold are some of the strange indicators that Patnaik sees when he settles into Bhoj. Everything appears to be back to normal, though, as he successfully raids Dada Bhai. Somehow, a brass statue has taken the place of the original gold one, and there has been no discovery of any illicit funds.

It is evident that Dada Bhai is constantly monitoring the situation. In a strategic attempt to keep tabs on Patnaik's probe, he even sent the bribe that prompted his transfer. Dada Bhai suspends Patnaik from his job and demotes him to live with his in-laws after an unsuccessful raid. That is not, however, the full story.

Unearthing shady past

He begins to investigate Dada Bhai's background and finds out important information about his late girlfriend, Neha Rathod. He purchased the property that currently houses a five-star hotel in her name. Patnaik discovers a trend as his investigation progresses: women were offered government employment in return for their identities being used in illicit real estate deals; accusations of sexual exploitation were also levelled against him.

To bring a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) case against Dada Bhai, Patnaik teams up with his boss and a dubious attorney (Yashpal Sharma). Until the court hearing, when the lawyer plays audio of the bribe offer, publicly exposing Dada Bhai, it appears as though he was bribed into quiet.

Inside man revealed

Amit Sial portrays Lallan Sudhir, a new income tax officer who arrives in Bhoj. Though he is initially depicted as corrupt, it is subsequently discovered that he is actually involved in Patnaik's plot. A successful raid at the hotel built on Neha's land is orchestrated by Lallan when he receives fresh information from an informant in the local office.

There, the police unearth a vast hoard of illicit funds and precious metals, including gold taps and cash-filled laundry rooms. Dada Bhai's men tortured Vinay (Brijendra Kala), a civil servant who had aided Patnaik, but they managed to rescue him.

Chaos breaks out

After returning to Bhoj, Dada Bhai paid a court to remove the restraining order, and he and a large throng stormed inside the hotel. Attempting a daring manoeuvre, the outnumbered income tax inspectors threw bundles of cash out the window. The crowd loses its composure and stops supporting Dada Bhai.

However, the plot becomes more complex when Vaani Kapoor's character, Malini, discovers her son Dada Bhai's transgressions, and Dada Bhai's mother, Supriya Pathak, becomes involved. Malini publicly accuses Dada Bhai of wrongdoing after his mother hits him in front of the audience. Everything is going against him now.

Handshake that says its's not over

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dada Bhai. A political fixer, Rameshwar Singh (Saurabh Shukla), who has been observing the rise and fall of power, approaches Dada Bhai in prison. There may yet be room for a partnership or agreement, since Rameshwar reaches out a hand. Even if one corrupt man has fallen, the power struggle is far from over as the film concludes with that handshake.

Raid 2 delves further into the political intrigue and ethical compromises surrounding the fight against black money while also expanding the universe of the first – now streaming on Netflix.
