In an interview with Etimes, Raima elaborated on the chronology of media interactions since her grandmother’s time. She said that during Suchitra Mitra’s time, actors preferred to be elusive. They used to be very restrictive about their public appearance. During Raima’s mother Moon Moon Sen’s time, tabloids and film magazines started becoming popular and through those, fans used to connect with stars. In fact, Raima pointed out that when she started her career, social media was not what it is today. She admitted that the scene has changed completely. “It is like if you are not on social media, you are missing out. Your fans will have no updates about you,” said the actress.

Raima also admitted that social media platforms help celebrities to put their message across. She said that since visibility is an important part of stardom these days, one has to be on social media. She further added that a star is also expected to attend parties and have their PR team. “All these were not there during my initial days but you have to adapt and move with the time,” she said.

Meanwhile, talking about trolls, the actress admitted that initially, she used to be hurt. She said that she wondered why she should be judged by people who have no idea of her. However, because of her family which has multiple stars, the actress knew how to deal with such trolls. “I have grown up reading gossip about my mother in the magazines. The actress said that it was her father who kept her grounded and as a child, she was never affected by such gossip. “I don’t want to upset my mental health, so I ignore the trolls,” said Raima. She said that she welcomes ‘constructive criticism’ but has no tolerance for online trolling.
