Last year, when Raj B Shetty began working on Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye as Ramya’s first production under her banner Applebox Studios, he went off social media and his phone too, as is his practice when he is at work. But even though he finished SMMH in record time, Raj continued to stay away, popping up every now and then with a picture of him with his dogs, only after he began shooting for his Mollywood debut, Rudhiram.

There were whispers that he had begun working on a new film, which was reported as the directorial launchpad of one of his associates, in which Raj would play the lead along with Chaithra Achar and Samyukta Hornad. Both actresses have been excitedly talking about ‘a film’ that’s going to blow audiences’ minds, without explicitly confirming that it is the film with Raj. Other sources said that the film, which is apparently called Toby, has been directed by Raj himself and, unlike his earlier Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, where he had made a conscious choice not to have any female characters, his new film with the exact opposite, with strong women at the helm.

Now back on social media, Raj has, over the last several days been hinting that he’s made another film and is thrilled to present it soon. That wait will end on Tuesday, June 13. Taking to social media, he wrote, “Let the countdown begin! Save the Date for the official announcement of our next,” along with a post that read, “Lighter Buddha Films in association with Agastya Films, the makers of Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahan are eager to announce their next project on 13.06.2023 at 11.07 am.”
