The Family Man, Farzi, Guns & Gulaabs (2023), and Citadel: Honey Bunny (2024) are just a few of the critically praised series that Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, better known as Raj-DK, have created for streaming. Now, they are preparing for a return to the big screen. The filmmakers are reportedly juggling numerous projects on OTT platforms while also preparing to return to theatres after a seven-year absence, according to Mid-Day.

Farzi Season 2 and OTT slate in full swing

Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi will resume leading the cast of Farzi in season two, which is set to go on floors around the tail end of 2025. The tabloid was informed by a source that Raj-DK are currently engrossed in three series - they are gearing up for the filming of Farzi 2 while simultaneously managing Rakt Bramhand and the post-production of The Family Man 3. The development of these three series is moving forward at a rapid pace, and they have also started planning their theatrical release schedule. When the criminal thriller starring Shahid and Vijay is wrapped up in mid-2026, Raj-DK plans to launch their first theatrical effort in seven years.

The 2018 horror comedy Stree was the last film in which the two worked together; it was a commercial and critical smash that catapulted director Amar Kaushik to stardom. Go Goa Gone (2013) and Happy Ending (2014) are two of their earlier directing efforts; A Gentleman (2017) is one of their less successful flicks.

Two theatrical scripts in the pipeline

The tabloid report cites a source as saying that Raj-DK have narrowed their theatrical comeback script options down to two. They will direct one, while someone else will helm the other. Whether it was Suparn Varma (watch Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena), who directed a few episodes in The Family Man 2, or Amar Kaushik, who made his directorial debut in Stree, Raj-DK frequently recruited new voices. Along with their Telugu production, Cinema Bandi (2021), Praveen Kandregula's directing career got its start with this one. The insider stated that one of the films will roll in the second half of 2026 if all goes according to plan.

Crucially, they will not slack down on their digital storytelling just because they are focusing on theatrical films. Since the streaming boom began, Raj-DK have been one of the most reliable content makers in the Hindi OTT industry, and they have kept up this trend across all of their platforms.
