Recently, acclaimed filmmakers Raj & DK and Rahi Anil Barve, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), discussed the importance of "putting their heads down" when faced with challenges. They didn't mention why they made the post, but it follows rumours that Prime Video is cancelling their upcoming series, Gulkanda Tales and that Netflix's Rakt Bramhand has faced financial fraud.

Message of resilience from Raj & DK

In their statement, Raj & DK reaffirmed their dedication to their craft despite obstacles. Their post stated, "Every now and then, something happens to shake things up. And you have a choice about how to react. For us, that choice of reaction has always been clear—to just put our heads down and continue doing what we have been doing. Work harder. Do better.

It is also a reminder to take stock of where we are at. While we are in the midst of production on our most ambitious show yet… and fresh from completing season 3 of The Family Man… and a few more films and shows in development… we took a quick moment to contemplate and realised we are exactly where we want to be. Creating stories one after another, the way we want to, with the people we love to work with, and working round the clock and round the year :)

Shit will keep happening…Someone will steal, someone will throw you under the bus, people will say what they want to… The best reaction to all of it seems to be to just keep at it. To break new ground and keep coming to you with new, original stories. That’s been the promise.

We just thought we needed to take a moment to reiterate this!

Next up: Rakt Brahmand on Netflix and Gulkanda Tales and The Family Man 3 on Prime."

Rahi Anil Barve shares a similar perspective

Echoing similar sentiments, Rahi Anil Barve, the filmmaker behind Tumbbad, also took to X, sharing: "Every now and then something happens to shake things up. And you have a choice about how to react. Shit will keep happening. Work harder. Do better.

Next up: Rakt Brahmand on Netflix and Gulkanda Tales on Prime. and Pahadpangira in theatres. No matter how many hurdles, I won't stop!"

Alleged cancellation of Gulkanda Tales and financial fraud in Rakt Brahmand

The duo's ambitious upcoming show, Gulkanda Tales, was reportedly shelved by Prime Video on Tuesday, according to Bollywood Hungama. An unidentified sum between ₹2-3 crore reportedly stolen from the production is being held by the executive producer of their second show, Rakt Bramhand, according to a separate investigation by Peeping Moon.

Prime Video's Gulkanda Tales features Kunal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee in a historical sex comedy. Barve is helming the show, which Raj and DK are producing for Prime Video. A fantasy action series for Netflix called Rakt Bramhand, helmed by the trio, features Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles.
