The trailer of Rajamarthanda, which is the last film featuring the late Chiranjeevi Sarja, was revealed today. Directed by K Ramnarayan, the story seems to be about a power struggle between two entrepreneurs, which is then taken forward by their children, played by Chiranjeevi and Sourav Lokesh as they fight it out for supremacy. The action-packed commercial entertainer also features a love story, with Deepti Sati filling in as the romantic interest.
Rajamarthanda is a film that Chiranjeevi had finished shooting for at the time of his tragic demise, but had not dubbed for, as the industry was shut down as part of the pandemic lockdown. When the team of the film later appraised the late actor’s brother Dhruva Sarja about the situation, he agreed to help them out and dub for Chiranjeevi’s portions. For Dhruva, who was very close to his brother, the process of dubbing was emotionally challenging, but he soldiered on, so as not to leave the team of Rajamarthanda in the lurch. The film is now set to release in theatres on October 6, which is Dhruva’s birthday. In early 2022, Shivarajkumar also had to dub for his late brother, Puneeth Rajkumar’s James. The team, however, later utilized the services of an audio edit studio that stitched together Puneeth’s voice from various sources – interviews, film clippings, etc., so that audiences could hear the Power Star’s voice in James.
The teaser of Rajamarthanda had earlier been launched by the late actor’s son Raayan Raj Sarja. Ramnarayan stated that Raayan will be seen in the film, which will be revealed when Rajamarthanda hits theatres. Chiranjeevi Sarja passed away in June 2020, at the height of the pandemic, aged only 37, following a massive cardiac arrest. His wife, actress Meghana Raj Sarja was five months pregnant at the time. She recently returned to the big screen with the murder mystery Tatsama Tadbhava, produced by Chiranjeevi’s close pal Panaga Bharana. The film also starred Prajwal Devaraj in a pivotal role.
