Popular Hindi film actor Rajat Bedi, who played prominent roles in films like Jodi No. 1, Aksar, Koi Mil Gaya, Jaan-E-Mann, Partner, is all set to make his Telugu cinema debut. He is cast as the antagonist in Ahimsa, a love story directed by Teja, that stars Rana Daggubati's younger brother Abhiram Daggubati and Geethika Tiwary in prominent roles. The film is jointly produced by P Kiran of Anandi Art Creations and Suresh Babu (Abhiram's father).
An excited Rajat, sharing his enthusiasm on being part of the film, shares, “Telugu films have always given prominent roles to villains whenever a new actor is being launched and I'm happy to be a part of Abhiram's debut film Ahimsa. Teja (sir), the director has made many popular films in the past and is a known name for launching several young actors who're superstars now. I can assure you Abhiram's fans will really hate me as a villain and still respect my acting abilities in the film. All I can tell you now is that it's an extremely powerful role."
Director Teja opening up on Rajat's presence in Ahimsa adds that the actor has all the attributes to be a popular villain - 'body, mindset and attitude, face and the voice'. The actor feels happy to be back in action in the entertainment industry, coinciding with the advent of OTT, digital and television media. Rajat Bedi also has plans to turn a producer and is soon expected to start a production house in Mumbai. He has had meaty roles in films like Indian, Jaani Dushman..., Chor Machaaye Shor, Chaalbaaz, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Rakht in the past too.
Composer R P Patnaik is making a comeback with Ahimsa as well.
