Rajendra Prasad's OTT debut Senapathi to release on aha on THIS date?

One after the other, major stars in the Telugu film industry are making their presence felt in the OTT space. After the likes of Samantha, Priyamani, Tamannaah, Eesha Rebba, Priyadarshi to name a few, it's veteran actor Rajendra Prasad who'll make his digital debut with Senapathi, a revenge drama that's slated to release directly on aha. The web original directed by Prema Ishq Kaadhal fame Pavan Sadineni is produced by Sushmita Konidela (daughter of actor Chiranjeevi) and Vishnu Prasad under Gold Box Entertainments. The film, we hear, now has a release date.

As per sources close to the OTT platform, Senapathi is slated to release on aha on December 31. The promotional activity for the same is set to commence this weekend (on December 10) with a motion poster that'll also feature Rajendra Prasad's voice. The film is a redemption drama for which Rajendra Prasad is set to appear on screen without a wig after many years. Reportedly, the actor was so convinced with the story that he was game to do anything to get his role right. 

The film has an interesting lineup of actors including Rakendu Mouli, Naresh Agastya, Keshav Deepak, Harshavardhan and Gnaneswari Kandregula. The character posters of the actors will be released shortly as well. The shoot of Senapathi is complete and the team is reportedly very happy with the output, with the producers having considered a theatrical release at a point of time (though they went back on the decision later). Rajendra Prasad will be seen in a full-fledged intense role for Senapathi and the brief glimpses have promised a cracker of an outing. All eyes are on December 31 now!
