As per the latest reports, Rajinikanth has begun dubbing for his next release, Annaatthe. The director of the film, Siva, has already informed that ninety per cent of the shooting has been completed. The title of the film Annaatthe is a term generally used to address elders with respect.
Rajinikanth will play a ‘Nattamai’ (village head) in the movie. Annaatthe’s shoot and the dubbing were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and faced frequent interruptions because of lockdowns and restrictions. Recently, the makers confirmed that the movie will release in theatres on November 4 i.e. for the Deepavali weekend.
Rajinikanth was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ action drama Darbar. Rajinikanth had played a cop hell-bent on avenging his daughter’s death in the movie. Darbar opened to heavy hype following the huge success of Petta but failed to set the cash registers ringing.
The director Siva is naturally excited about Annaatthe, more so after the success of his last venture Viswasam. Viswasam starred Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara in lead roles, which opened to positive reviews and became a huge commercial success.
D. Imman, who composed music for Viswasam, has yet again collaborated with Siva for Annaatthe. The film’s music album will feature an introduction song by late singer S P Balasubrahmanyam, his last for Rajinikanth. Imman had won the 67th National Film Awards for the Best Music Direction for Viswasam.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film boasts of an ensemble cast comprising Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu and Soori.
