Rajkumar Hirani has directed five films in his career so far and all of them have been successful. The filmmaker's sixth directorial, Dunki, hit the silver screen on December 21, 2023. Starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, the movie got a decent opening at the box office. Two days after the theatrical release of Dunki, Rajkumar Hirani stated that he isn't worried about the outcome of his film.

Rajkumar Hirani on Dunki's outcome

In an interview with News 18, the filmmaker said there is always pressure for success after a film's release. Rajkumar, who is not worried about Dunki's outcome, said, "It’s only the first film when a director doesn’t feel the pressure. It’s an achievement when a director finishes and releases his first film. Post that there is always pressure for success but I have never succumbed to it. I have never followed any trend as I feel it’s a trap. My idea is still to entertain the audience and make films that we believe in."

Further, when Rajkumar was asked what sets SRK apart from the actors he worked with, Hirani said he is enamoured by the superstar's charm. The filmmaker added that Shah Rukh Khan is an amazing actor and an even better person.

In the past, the director worked with Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and others.

About the film

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and several others. The movie revolves around the lives of four friends who wish to travel to England. Although they have no visas, a soldier comes to their rescue and helps them navigate toward their dreamland.

SRK's Dunki clashed with Prabhas' Salaar at the ticket window. The Prashanth Neel film is way ahead of the Hirani directorial at the domestic as well as global box office.
