Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao seems to be an ardent fan of Malayalam cinema. He recently reached out to Mollywood actor Vinay Forrt to congratulate him on his performance in Mahesh Narayanan’s Malik, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Vinay, who played David Christudas, in the Fahadh Faasil-starrer had shared Rajkummar’s message on his social media page. “Saw Malik and wanted to congratulate you on a brilliant performance,” wrote the Newton actor, to which Vinay replied that he is “immensely grateful for the words of appreciation”. Both Vinay and Rajkummar are also alumni of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
This isn’t the first time that Rajkummar, who has starred in Roohi and The White Tiger earlier this year, reached out to a Mollywood actor to praise their acting. A few months ago, he praised Joju George for his performance in Martin Prakkat’s Nayattu. Rajkummar also has admitted that he has been following Fahadh’s work of late.
Meanwhile, Vinay has been receiving a lot of praise for his role in Malik, which also has Nimisha Sajayan and Joju. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, he said, “As an actor, I wish to do roles that live on forever. I want my work to be remembered and discussed even 500 years later. Malik offered that kind of work.Talking about David, about 90% of the characters that are offered to me have some sort of inferiority complex. Especially after Thamaasha, I have been getting roles of a youth who is struggling to find a bride. That’s when Malik happened,” he said.
