Soon after his vacation with wife Patralekha, actor Rajkummar Rao is all set to be back on the silver screens with his upcoming investigative thriller film titled HIT - The First Case. The malers of the film that stars Sanya Malhotra opposite him, dropped its trailer earlier this week. HIT - The First Case is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name that released in the year 2020.

Speaking to mediapersons at the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai, Rajkummar Rao expressed how elated he was to do action in the film. Not many know that Rao is himself trained in martial arts. The actor told the reporters that nobody in the industry has given him the chance to do action earlier. So he thoroughly enjoyed the same while filming for HIT.

"The action is real, organic and rae. This is a film I'm proud of. It is presenting me in a different avatar," Rao further told the media at the trailer launch event, adding that he feels it's a good investigative thriller.

Going by the trailer, HIT - The First Case revolves around the story of a cop named Vikram, essayed by Rao. He seems to be in the middle of an investigation of a case invlving a missing woman. Several scenes in the trailer also suggest that Rao's character is also battling post-traumati stress disorder (PTSD) while trying to solve the case at hand.

Rao's 2019 release titled Judgementall Hai Kya also aimed at igniting conversations around mental health issues and the actor said that he hopes HIT - The First Case takes the conversation further. The actor shared that people don't realise that they are going through a mental health issue, so it becomes important to have these conversations.

"I'm glad that through our film we might have a begining of that conversation," he said adding that just as the audience could witness the pain that the characters in Badhaai Do were going through in the last 20 minutes of the film, in HIT - The First Case, his character (Vikram) too is carrying that baggage throughout the movie.

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who also directed the Telugu original, HIT - The First Case is all set to hit the theatres on July 15.
