Rajkummar Rao reveals he did Trapped for free, says it will among his top 10 films people talk about after 50 years

Rajkummar Rao is an actor par excellence and is out to carve his own legacy in Bollywood. The actor during his appearance on Arbaaz Khan talks show Pinch revealed that he strives to balance his career between films he does for the box office and films he does for life. During the conversation, Rajkummar revealed that he did his critically acclaimed film Trapped for free.

The Stree actor said that he is making a conscious effort to do films that challenge him. Arbaaz Khan then mentioned how early on in his career his role in Gangs of Wasseypur was reduced and he was practically getting noting for doing the role but he still wanted to do it. Rajkummar added to this and said, “I did Trapped for free. Some films are not meant for box office, they are meant for life.  I’ll go from this world after 50 years or whatever.. when people talk about 10 films of Rajkummar Rao, they will talk about Trapped.”

The actor also admitted that he has done a few films in his career that he’s not too proud of. “I’ve done a couple of films that I’m not too proud of. It would have been absolutely fine if I did not do them. Now, I am trying to make a conscious choice to choose films that challenge me as an actor,” Rajkummar told Arbaaz.

Rajkummar Rao started out with small supporting roles in Bollywood but soon rose to prominence thanks to his prolific acting chops and choice of films. He has been widely acclaimed for films like Shahid, Trapped, Citylights, Newton, Aligarh, Stree among many others. He will be seen net in projects like Badhaai Do, Hum Do Hamare Do, Monica, O My Darling.
