Rajneeti actress Ditipriya Roy: With Kaushik Ganguly on set, you learn every moment

Actor-director Sourav Chakraborty’s upcoming web series Rajneeti will be dropped on Hoichoi on May 26. On May 16, the show’s trailer was dropped. The series which features Kaushik Ganguly, Ditipriya Roy, Koneenica Banerjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, and others delves into a family of politicians. Ditipriya plays the character of Rashi Banerjee – the daughter of a seasoned politician, played by Kaushik. In a chat, the young actress talked about her experience of working in the series. 

“With Kaushik Ganguly on set, you learn every moment. He is a constant guide. Along with Souravda, I kept on asking him about my shots, etc. even when I wasn’t shooting, I used to sit at the set just to see the way he performs. It has been a learning experience,” said Ditipriya. 

Not just Kaushik, the actress also praised Koneenica and Arjun. “I knew Konidi (Koneenica) for years. She has that kindness that gets reflected on her face. She has been very protective. I worked with Rishida (Arjun) in Avijatrik. While everyone says he is introverted, we had a gala time during the shoot. We cracked jokes and laughed out loud during the breaks. We all enjoyed the shooting,” said Ditipriya.

Rajneeti is a political drama based on a family of politicians. “I was shooting in London when I got a call about this show. I heard the script during the breaks between the shots and fell in love with it instantly. I usually get characters who are innocent. This one is layered. My character meets with an accident. As a result, I was trapped with a crutch, belts, collars, and a lot of other paraphernalia. I used to be immobile. Exploring the character was an exciting journey for me,” she said.  

Rajneeti was shot in Belgadia Palace in Odisha. Ditipriya is currently busy shooting Dhrubo Banerjee’s Bagalamama.
