Raju James Bond is a film that its leading man, First Rank Raju fame Gurunandan began working on way back in 2018. The film has been ready for a while and the team has been hinting at a release since 2023, but it is only now that a date’s been announced. Writer-director Deepak Madhuvanahalli’s action romantic comedy will release in theatres on February 14, in the run-up to which, a trailer was released.

All about Raju James Bond

The story of Raju James Bond unfolds in a place called Suvarnapura, where Gurunandan, as Raju, yet again, aspires to become the manager of the local bank – Nimmade Bank. The reason is that Raju is hellbent on clearing the debts against the house his mother built, which has been seized by the bank as part of the loan recovery. Supporting him in this endavour, are his uncle, played by Achyuth Kumar, and the local TV reporter, played by Chikkanna.

The bank job apart, Raju’s other dream is to be able to marry the love of his life, Vidya (Mridula), a teacher at the local school. But all of Raju’s plans go awry, when his path crosses that of MLA Bhoothaya (P Ravi Shankar). Can Raju extricate himself from the troubles he finds himself in, while also putting Bhoothaya in place? How does he go from being just Raju to Raju James Bond? That and more will be revealed when the film opens in theatres.

An Anoop Seelin musical, Raju James Bond also stars Sadhu Kokila, Tabla Nani, Jai Jagdeesh, among others. Produced by Karma Bros under the banner of Manjunath Vishwakarma and Kiran Bharthur, Raju James Bond will have a global release across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and more. Interestingly, the team has also been able to snag a Hindi-dubbing release, which will also be out simultaneously on February 14.
