Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has dealt with highs and lows on his professional and personal level. In the Netflix documentary The Roshans, the senior filmmaker shed light on the financial struggles he faced. After Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai's release, Rakesh Roshan was shot at in 2000 and in 2019, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. However, he emerged as a survivor. In a recent interview, the senior filmmaker revealed he drew strength from his daughter Sunaina Roshan to deal with struggles.

In an interview with News18, Rakesh Roshan mentioned that he didn't let setbacks affect him. The veteran director shared that he learned about dealing with struggles from his daughter Sunaina. 

"She went through a lot of illnesses and surgeries right since her childhood. But she always been very brave and used to laugh at the face of hardships. She has always been a very happy person and that that taught me a lot," he shared. The Karan Arjun director believes that one must be happy and content no matter what the situation is.

He continued to add that Sunaina's approach to life helped him deal with the shooting episode and cancer. For those unaware, the filmmaker's daughter bravely fought against cervical cancer, fatty liver disease, and brain tuberculosis. Today, she often talks about her transformation journey on social media.

In the same conversation, Rakesh Roshan expressed gratitude to his wife Pinkie Roshan for supporting him during his difficult times. "She married me when I was earning Rs 200 as an AD. She took up 80 percent of the burden and said that she’s happy with me," he recalled.

On the work front, Rakesh Roshan has delivered several successful projects like Krrish, Karan Arjun, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, and more. He recently featured in The Roshans with his son Hrithik Roshan and brother Rajesh Roshan.
