The norm is for a mandatory theatrical release, the response of which determines the business deal. So, when a film hits theatres with his satellite and digital rights business in order, it is half the battle won. Rakkasapuradhol, one of the February 6 theatrical releases, led by Raj B Shetty and directed by newbie Ravi Saranga has that luxury.
Where to watch Rakkasapuradhol after its theatrical run?
Rakkasapuradhol’s satellite and digital rights have been picked up by Zee Network, so it will begin streaming on Zee5 after the theatrical run. The film will be available via OTTplay Premium also. Going by the trend these days, the film should be on the platform on or before the 30-day mark. Although a streaming date is yet to be officially confirmed, the film is likely to make its way to streaming by March 6 or 7.

Rakkasapuradhol is the maiden production venture of popular stunt master Ravi Verma, while director Ravi Saranga is a long-term associate of Kannada cinema’s showman, director Prem. The film has music by Arjun Janya, whose directorial debut 45, also starring Raj, is on Zee5. Rakkasapuradhol also stars Archana Kottige, Swathishta Krishnan, B Suresh, Jahangir, Siddanna, Gaurav Shetty, Anirudh Bhat, among others.
The film, meanwhile, has Raj playing a cop for the first time in his career. It follows his character, SI Shiva, as he investigates a spate of murders in the sleepy village of Rakkasapura, which had hitherto reported little to no crime. While the villagers believe it is the handiwork of a deadly demon – Kolli Devva, Shiva seeks a more plausible explanation. But is there one?
