Rana Daggubati, who will be next seen in filmmaker Teja’s upcoming project Rakshasa Raja, has been preparing extensively for his role. Although the makers of the film are yet to disclose the vital details about the movie, we have received some key information about the genre of the Rana Daggubati-starrer. According to the latest Telugu reports, the upcoming film is said to be a period action drama set in the 1930s, during the British colonial era. Offering a ‘larger-than-life’ adventure, the upcoming film is said to portray the story of a fictional village, capturing influences of Portuguese and French cultures into the storyline. The film is nevertheless going to be a massive project, which will be made against a visually compelling backdrop.

Rana Daggubati and Teja - The blockbuster duo

Rana Daggubati, who has previously collaborated with filmmaker Teja in the blockbuster political film Nene Raju Nene Mantri, has joined hands once again with the director for this upcoming period film. Rakshasa Raja is undoubtedly one of the most exciting projects ahead for Rana Daggubati, who had earlier revealed that the actor in him came to the fore during the shoot of Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Hence it will be interesting to see how Teja captures a different dimension of the Telugu star with their next collaboration.

Rana Daggubati’s gritty first look

Earlier the makers of the film had unveiled the first-look poster, which featured Rana in a gritty rural avatar. He is seen sporting ‘vibhuti’ and has bullets around his fingers and holds a huge gun in the other hand. During Teja's last film Ahimsa’s promotional event, Gopinath Achanta was named as the producer for Rakshasa Raja. 

Although the other cast and crew of the film are yet to be confirmed, a few insider sources claim that young actress Ruhani Sharma, who impressed the audiences in her Telugu debut with Chi La Sow has been signed to play the female lead in the film. Other updates will be unveiled shortly.
