Director Ramesh Varma announced Rakshasudu 2 by unveiling a title poster for the upcoming movie on Tuesday. The movie is the sequel to the hit crime thriller Rakshasudu, which was released in 2019, and directed by Ramesh. With a bloodstained butcher's knife and a man carrying a white body bag in the backdrop, the poster has set the tone for the movie.
With a tagline that read, “Hold your breath”, the makers are said to have roped in a big-time actor to star in the film. The details about the cast have not been revealed yet. “Hold your breath... Going to be more thrilling”, wrote the director, teasing a movie that could be more thrilling than the first installment.
Produced by Satyanarayana Koneru under the banner of A Studios LLP and Havish Production, the poster has announced that the shoot will commence soon. Venkat C Dileep will be the cinematographer for the movie, while award-winning composer Gibran will handle the music.
Rakshasudu was a big break for Ramesh when it released. Starring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama Parameswaran, the film was well-received by the audience and critics alike.
Rakshasudu was the remake of the 2018 Tamil thriller Ratsasan. It starred Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in the lead roles. The Tamil movie was released to stupendous ovation and is now considered a cult classic. The same was the case with the Telugu remake.
Ramesh is currently helming Khiladi, starring Ravi Teja, Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayathi. The movie is reported to have Ravi Teja in dual roles.
