Last week, while announcing the arrival of 777 Charlie’s arrival on OTT, albeit only in its original Kannada version on Voot Select on July 29, leading man and producer Rakshit Shetty had said that the film was also celebrating 50-days at the box office. The occasion, he said, deserved to be celebrated and not just by the lead cast and crew, but everyone who worked on bringing the film to the big screen. The team has been putting up pics from their trip on social media.

The magnanimous producer that he is, Rakshit gave them the option of a quick foreign getaway, for which the team chose Thailand. “It was the team’s decision to head to Thailand for this well-deserved break. I was not in town when they decided the destination, and by the time I was back, they’d even booked the tickets and were all set to fly out. Around 40 of us will head out on holiday. This is for the team. I will just sit back and enjoy and join them in the celebration,” Rakshit had said.

Once back, Rakshit is expected to return to the set of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, directed by Hemanth Rao, for which he has been gaining weight to get in character for a particular look in the film. The actor-director is also working on putting together his next directorial, Richard Anthony, which will be produced by Hombale Films. He’s also got plans for a Punyakoti adaptation, as well as a film about the afterlife, called Midway to Moksha.

777 Charlie, meanwhile, dropped on Voot Select in Kannada with English subtitles on July 29. The digital rights for the other languages are with Amazon Prime Video and those versions are likely to be available to stream in another 10 days or so. Rakshit had said that the plan was for two weeks after the Kannada OTT release, closer to the 60th day of the film’s theatrical outing.
