Debutant director Nithin Krishnamurthy’s Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare has been much talked about ever since the team began promotions with rather innovative ideas, including videos with major Kannada superstars such as Puneeth Rajkumar, Kiccha Sudeep, Rakshit Shetty, Rishab Shetty and Ramya. A comedy-drama that takes place entirely in a boys hostel, the cast comprises as many as 100 artistes and several extras. That’s not all – Rishab Shetty, Diganth, Pawan Kumar, Shine Shetty and Sathish Neenasam are believed to be among actors who will be seen in cameos in the film.

The film is being presented by Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Pictures and we now have a release date too. Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare will be in theatres on July 21. Taking to social media earlier to announce his association with the film team, Rakshit, who has seen the film, had tweeted, “Paramvah Pictures has had the privilege to present some of the best films in the past years. It brings me utmost happiness to add to this list yet another fabulously fabricated film from a genre quite different from what was presented by us. A passionate group of creatively simulated youngsters have come together to create this hilarious and breezy film that is certain to walk you down the nostalgic path. I can confidently claim that the way this film has been pictured, no other film in their country has explored this style before. One more film to make our industry proud. Paramvah Pictures proudly presents Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare,” he wrote.

Hostel Hudugaru Bekaddare has been produced by Gulmohar Films in association with Varrun Studios. Arvind Kashyap fills in as cinematographer, while music is by Ajaneesh Loknath.

After a fairly lacklustre first half of the year, things are finally looking brighter for the Kannada film industry, with several interesting titles lining up for release. Earlier today, director Shashank announced July 28 for his Kousalya Supraja Rama. Hostel Hudugaru comes a week earlier. In August, Raj B Shetty’s Toby gets the 25th, while Rakshit’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello has taken up September 1 and October 20. Films like Kshetrapati, Pepe, Baanadaariyalli and Martin, among others, are expected to announce release dates shortly.
