In several interviews with the media, Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty has spoken about the fact that his production house Paramvah Studios was born out of a need to not only build his portfolio as a filmmaker and artiste, but also to provide talents a platform to tell stories that deserve to be told. A lot of the films that Rakshit is currently backing are the directorial debuts of writer-filmmakers from a group called 7 odds, who worked with him on Kirik Party and Avane Srimannarayana.

What Rakshit has done is to commission scripts from the writers who have been on his team for a while. The process, he says, is that he’d ask for a synopsis, which, if interesting, would then be developed into full-fledged scripts. Once the scripts are ready, there is another round of scrutiny and if the subject still feels appealing, Rakshit gives them the go-ahead to make the films, which he then produces. Besides these writers, there is a bunch of people that Rakshit is collaborating with. But Rakshit is not only focusing on being a platform for those who are already associated with him.

Every now and then there are scripts that are sent to his banner, which due to a paucity of time, he doesn’t read, but entrusts to members of the 7 Odds and if at least two of them like and approve of a story, it then comes to him for final approval. Since not everyone on the 7 Odds is currently busy with bringing their own scripts to the screen, those who are still only in scripting stage, help in filtering the stories that come to Paramvah Studios. That is as far as his productions go.

As far as throwing the might of his banner behind already produced films, the process is that Rakshit has to first like a trailer, after which he watches the film and if that also appeals to him, then he comes on board as presenter. The funda, says Rakshit, is that he does not like the idea of any good film going to waste.
