Rakshit Shetty to release the first single from Raghavendra Stores, Single Sundara

Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh’s first collaboration with Hombale Films, Raghavendra Stores, was meant to be an August 2022 release. But it was then pushed ahead indefinitely, with no word on an alternate date for the longest time. In fact, at one point it was widely speculated that the makers were likely to skip a theatrical outing for the film and take it directly to OTT.

In October last year, shortly after Jaggesh’s Thotapuri Chapter 1 failed to click at the box office, the actor had spoken about how a big company is paying to create a false narrative of unprecedented success for some of its projects. This was believed to have been about Hombale Films’ Kantara, which came out along with Thotapuri. It was subsequently said that Jaggesh’s comments could have led to the decision to hold the release of Raghavendra Stores.

But turns out that Raghavendra Stores is coming to theatres after all. The comedy directed by Santhosh Ananddram is releasing on April 28. The film, which has Jaggesh playing a middle-aged bachelor, is the actor’s version of ‘40-year-old virgin’, The film stars Shwetha Srivatsa in a pivotal role and, in the run up to its theatrical outing, the makers are revealing the first song, Single Sundara, which according to the promo is about the predicaments faced by single men.

The makers revealed that the song would be launched on April 12 at 5 pm with a promotional video featuring actors Dhananjaya and Nagabhushana, along with composer Ajaneesh Loknath and director-lyricist Santhosh.

Meanwhile, although Raghavendra Stores is getting a theatrical release, Thotapuri Chapter 2 is still widely believed to b a direct-to-OTT outing. The makers have, apparently struck a deal with Zee5 Kannada and the film is expected to drop on the platform shortly.
