When Rakul Preet Singh is the star of a project, she claims the confidence writers and filmmakers have in her talent gives her a significant confidence boost. In the upcoming social comedy Chhatriwali, the actor, who is most known for his roles in the Hindi films De De Pyaar De, Attack, Runway 34, and films from the south like Sarrainodu, Dhruva, and Spyder, plays the title role.

She portrays the head of quality control at a condom plant in the Tejas Prabha-Vijay Deoskar-directed movie. RSVP, a label run by Ronnie Screwvala, is supporting the film.

Rakul stated in an interview with PTI that when a film is entrusted to her, she believes it is a great duty. One's team's confidence in her is a huge motivator in and of itself.

Her theory is that as writing has evolved, so has the audience's tolerance for a variety of narratives. She added that as time goes on, more and more female-focused movies are being produced. Because of how the writing has changed, her contemporaries or actors who are younger than her, like Jahnvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and others, are doing female-led movies. Additionally, viewers are prepared to see them.

Rakul claimed that her goal with Chhatriwali was to appeal to a larger audience. She said that it's a family movie. Even if the subject is important, the story is conveyed in a straightforward, joyful, and charming way. Her goal is to make movies that her parents and she can enjoy together.

In addition to Chhatriwali, the actor will appear in the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Doctor G, the Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Thank God, and the Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2.

Rakul stated that Doctor G and Chhatriwali's release dates will soon be confirmed and that Thank God is scheduled to hit theatres around Diwali.

The 31-year-old actor, who has recently started filming for Indian TV, expressed her gratitude for the chance to work alongside Haasan. The Tamil film, which Shankar directed, is the sequel to Haasan's 1996 vigilante action thriller, Indian. Rakul tacked on that being a part of a franchise that received unanimity of support is fantastic. It's wonderful to have the chance to work with Kamal and Shankar.

Her most recent film, the remake of the 2018 Tamil psychological thriller Ratsasan, Cuttputlli, was released. In the Hindi version, Akshay Kumar plays a cop, while Rakul plays Divya, a teacher. Cuttputlli, a Vashu Bhagnani production, debuted on Disney+ Hotstar on Friday.
