Rakul Preet Singh informed her fans in October that she had suffered a back injury. The actress had revealed that she was on bed rest around her birthday. While she was back on her feet around Diwali, Rakul hasn't completely recovered yet. The actress told Hindustan Times that she is recovering but there's a 'slow progress'. In the interview, Rakul revealed how the injury happened.
Rakul Preet revealed that she lifted an 80 kg deadlift on October 5 and felt pain in her tailbone. Despite this, the actress didn't stop working out and she considers it as her big mistake. She completed the workout and went straight to her shoot.

"By evening, I had a very terrible spasm that I couldn't even wear my own clothes as I couldn't bend forward. Thinking of it as a spasm, I kept shooting with that pain and it aggravated so much by the 10th that as I was getting ready for my birthday party, I felt like my lower body detached from my upper body. I fainted with that pain and my BP dropped. I was put on bed and then I was on bed for 10 days. Not bed rest, I was bedridden," she told the publication.
Rakul recalled that her husband Jackky Bhagnani planned a special sundowner birthday party for her but she could never see it. The producer had decorated everything and told his wife that she would be able to see it. "But the unfortunate thing was, I couldn't come up. I had my injury an hour before the birthday, so I could never see it," revealed Rakul.
In the same conversation, Rakul spoke about a lesson she learned from this incident. When she had the spasm, the actress thought that one's mind is stronger than the body. And that's why she continued her workout until her body stopped. "So, it’s a lesson learned that sometimes I just got to go easy sometimes," said Singh.
