Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh is reportedly in talks for a crucial role in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The actress might be seen as Shurpanakha (Raavan's sister).
Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has been in the news for a long time now. It has been reported that Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram and KGF star Yash will be seen as Raavan in the mythological film. Amid confusion about the actress who would play Goddess Sita, it's now being said that Rakul Preet Singh has been approached for the role of Shurpanakha in the film.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Rakul Preet Singh and Nitesh Tiwari have been in talks for a while now for her casting as Shurpanakha in Ramayana. It is one of the most important characters in the movie. The actress has reportedly already done look tests for the movie. And if everything goes as planned, Nitesh Tiwari's film will be the first project she shoots after her wedding with Jackky Bhagnani.
The media report further stated that Rakul Preet is excited to be a part of this mythological epic and is considering it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The paperwork is expected to begin soon. Meanwhile, the buzz is that Sunny Deol might play the role of Lord Hanuman in Tiwari's Ramayana. As per media reports, the Gadar 2 actor might be paid Rs 45 crore for his role in the film.
It has been reported that Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will begin working on Ramayana in March 2024. Yash will join the team for the shoot by July this year, whereas Sunny Deol will shoot his portions in May 2024. It is expected that once Yash finishes shooting for Ramayana, the makers might release the mythological epi around Diwali 2025.
However, an official announcement by the makers has yet to be made. People have high hopes for this movie as it is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The filmmaker has earlier helmed films like Bawal, Dangal, and Chhichhore. The star cast of this movie is also huge and talented.
