Ram Charan reveals his movie crushes: 'I don’t know if I was obsessed, but...'

Tollywood star Ram Charan's fanbase is expanding beyond India. During a recent interview with Letterboxd, he got to find out what his fans in the West think of his onscreen persona. The interviewer read an online review of RRR, in which a fan had written, “Ram Charan is a ****ing snack.” The star took the compliment without any hesitance and said, “Wow. I want my wife to hear this. Lovely. She will be very proud, I think.”

He was asked to name the woman actors he found attractive when he was young. And he said, “I don’t know if I was obsessed, but every time I saw Julia Roberts, I used to be really attracted to the film, to the screen, and I used to lock myself to the TV or the big screen. She had something so attractive and so conventional. I was a big fan of hers since Pretty Woman." 

Charan also had another favourite woman actor from Holywood. “Ah Catherina Zeta-Jones. My goodness. How can I forget her? The Mask of Zorro was one of her first films I enjoyed, and ever since I followed her work in Entrapment and so on," he added. 

Ahead of the Oscars, Charan is doing a good job keeping the buzz around RRR alive by giving a slew of interviews to the Western media. Recently, he spoke at length to The Hollywood Reporter about his experience shooting for RRR, sharing screen space with Jr NTR and other massive efforts that went into making this period blockbuster. 

In the meantime, Charan is now busy shooting for director Shankar's upcoming film, which has been temporarily titled RC15. The film also stars Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Anjali, Jayaram, Sunil, and Srikanth.
