Ram Charan will share screen space with his father, Chiranjeevi, in the upcoming actioner, Acharya.

Ram Charan has been in the limelight for some time now, following the release of the massive pan-Indian hit, RRR. The actor talked about his role in the movie and the rising popularity of South Indian films.
As reported by Times of India, the actor was talking to the media ahead of the release of Acharya, and said, “It's wonderful to see the popularity of South Indian films in the country. My father used to say that back then, people only talked about super actors in Bollywood.”
The actor added that movies like RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 are being discussed across the country and that he is proud to have been part of it.
The actor confirmed that he joined the project as a producer at first, before he decided to play the role of Siddha in the movie. He also revealed that his character is someone who is obliged to follow the path of non-violence, but a conflict with Sonu Sood’s antagonist leads him on a different path.
Calling his role in Acharya one of the most unique roles he has done, he said that people will enjoy his scenes, especially those with his father, Chiranjeevi.
Ram Charan played the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju in S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR, alongside Jr. NTR. The movie became a massive success across the country, even setting records at the Hindi box office.
The actor will be seen sharing screen space with his father, megastar Chiranjeevi in Acharya. Written and directed by Koratala Siva, the movie also features Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood, Vennela Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali and Regina Cassandra in a special appearance.
Bankrolled by Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production Company, the movie is set to hit theatres on April 29.
