Ever since its release, the multi-starrer film ‘RRR’ not just broke records after records, but also made India super proud at two of the most prestigious international events – The Golden Globes and the recently held The Oscars. For the ‘still-uninitiated’, the by-now-epic song from the film ‘Naatu Naatu' went onto become the first Indian song to win the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globes awards this year. Not the one to stop at this, the said track also bagged the ‘Best Original Song’ at the much coveted Oscar awards which were held recently.

In a conversation with Rajdeep Sardesai at the recently held ‘India Today Conclave’, Ram Charan spoke about what went behind making the iconic track ‘Naatu Naatu’, his equation with Jr NTR, his wife’s reaction minutes before the ‘winner’s name’ was announced. In the course of conversation, the RRR star revealed that, his wife Upasna was his lucky mascot and the 5 and a half month old baby insider her is even more luckier for me. When asked about the co-incidence about his film RRR winning the Oscars and Golden Globes and most importantly, he all set to be a father. To which, he said that all good things come at once.

Recalling the moments before the iconic announcement of ‘Naatu Naatu’s win at the Oscars, Ram Charan said that, he was just fortunate to be in the midst of that celebrations and that he had been a fanboy of the Academy since he was a kid. He made it a point to mention that nothing was bigger than the audiences in the theatre and that what India had given to them (Team RRR) was his biggest award and that rest everything was just another feather on the hat. To sum it up, he said, that win or not win doesn’t matter as they had reached the Oscar carpets.
