Ram Charan's Game Changer gets tentative release date

Game Changer is one of the most awaited movies of 2024. The movie marks the first time collaboration with director Shankar and Telugu superstar Ram Charan , who is now basking in the global success of his previous movie RRR.

As per the industry sources, Game Changer is set to hit the screens worldwide on September 27. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited.

Delays in Game Changer production

The film's production timeline extended beyond initial expectations, encountering delays due to various external factors. Last year, Shankar pressed the pause button on Game Changer production upon the birth of Ram Charan's daughter. The actor took a hiatus to spend quality time with his newborn, Klin Kaara, and his wife Upasana.

Before that, Ram Charan also took a break from the shooting as he dedicated his time extensively promoting RRR among Hollywood circles in the run-up to the Oscars. And Charan made a splash in the American media by appearing on all popular celebrity talk shows and podcasts. He was also joined by director SS Rajamouli and his RRR cor-star Jr NTR. The team's efforts culminated with an Oscar win for Naatu Naatu, creating history.

Indian 2, Game Changer ready to wow audiences

In the meantime, Shankar also simultaneously resumed shooting his long-delayed movie Indian 2. The project was put on the back burner following a freak accident on the sets that killed three crew members in 2020. The subsequent outbreak of the Covid pandemic created a lot of uncertainty about the project.

However, with the blockbuster success of Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, circumstances shifted, compelling Shankar to simultaneously shoot both Indian 2 and Game Changer. This marks the first time a director of Shankar's stature has undertaken such a dual project challenge.

And now Indian 2 and Game Changer are both getting ready to hit the screens this year.

The story of Game Changer is written by Karthik Subbaraj and Shankar has penned the screenplay. The movie also stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah and Jayaram among others.
