Ram Charan is keenly aiming at employing his current status of a 'pan-Indian star' for newer endeavours and the first step in this pursuit is the project headlined by Nikhil Siddhartha. Nikhil will reunite with his Karthikeya 2 co-star Anupam Kher for a period film that is set in the early 1900s (1905, to be precise) in the city of London.
Ram Charan presents the film under his new banner of 'V Mega Pictures' and earlier today, on the occasion of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar's 140th birth anniversary, the team announced that the title of this exciting project is 'The India House'.
The India House is a collaboration between Ram Charan's V Mega Pictures (in partnership with Vikram Reddy's UV Creations) and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, a production house that is steadily growing in repute for backing successful films like The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2 and the upcoming film The Vaccine War. In his recent tweet, the RRR actor expressed pride and delight over launching his new venture (V Mega Pictures) and announcing the production house's first pan-Indian film.
Directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna, The Indian House is a love story at its heart that is essentially set against the backdrop of the early 20th-century political turmoil. The title teaser that the team launched features a voiceover that hints at a revolution that's about to get underway with a newspaper clipping that shows up a few frames later carrying the headline 'A blast that set Thames on fire'. The concluding moments of the same teaser also reveal a building/house set ablaze to suggest the underlying drama of this unique story.
Nikhil Siddhartha plays the role of Shiva in the film with Anupam Kher playing the part of Shyamji Krishna Varma. The team is yet to reveal the female lead of the project.
Tej Narayan Agarwal and Abhishek Agarwal of Abhishek Agarwal Arts will be producing the film with Cameron Bryson roped in as the cinematographer. The rest of the core crew and cast is likely to be announced in due time.
