Ranveer Singh recently appeared naked for an American magazine called Paper Magazine as well as uploaded the photos on his social media pages. The nude photoshoot instantly went viral, with many congratulating the actor for such an incredible outing. However, the actor is also encountering numerous internet trolls.

In the midst of all this, Ram Gopal Varma spoke to ETimes about the photoshoot, "(I) think it’s his way of demanding justice for gender equality. If women can show off their sexy bodies, why can’t men? It’s hypocritical that men are judged by a different standard. Men should have as many equal rights as women."

According to the Hindustan Times, two petitions were submitted to the Mumbai Police earlier this week demanding the formation of a FIR against Ranveer for "hurting the sentiments of women" via his nude photograph on social media. A woman lawyer and an office-bearer of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) situated in the east Mumbai neighbourhood of Chembur lodged different complaints at the Chembur police station.

The lawyer's plea sought a case against Ranveer on the basis of attempting to insult women's dignity. "We received applications from a person associated with an NGO and a female lawyer on Monday on this matter. No FIR has been registered so far. We are enquiring, "a source informed PTI, according to Hindustan Times.

On the work front, Ranveer recently starred with Bear Grylls in the Netflix interactive special Ranveer versus Wild, and he now has a few projects in the works.

The actor will appear with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde in Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, which is set to be released before the end of the year and is reported to be an adaption of William Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.

Ranveer will also appear in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which will be directed by Karan Johar and co-star Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan.
