Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan have proved themselves to be quite the dynamic duo. It has been almost five years since the duo weaved their magic onto screens, but it seems that their next project is just on the horizon. It was reported that Varma is in talks with Bachchan for their next project together.

In conversation with India Today, Varma revealed that he was currently working on an idea for a film with Bachchan, and the two were still discussing it. The filmmaker revealed that it would be a horror film and he was planning on Bachchan to star in it.

Varma had collaborated with Bachchan before on films like Sarkar (2005), Sarkar Raj (2008), Sarkar 3 (2017), Department (2012), Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007), Rann (2010), and Nishabd (2007). Their last collaboration came with 2017’s Sarkar 3. Varma has also helmed a number of horror films as well such as Raat (1992), Bhoot (2003), Bhoot Returns (2012), Darna Mana Hai (2006), and Vaastu Shastra (2004).

Varma is currently awaiting the release of his film Ladki, which stars Pooja Bhalekar in the titular role. Touted to be one of India’s first martial arts film, Ladki will also be screened in China. The film is scheduled for release on July 15, 2022. The film is produced under the banners of Artsee Media, Big People and Parijatha Movie Creations.

Bachchan was last seen in Ajay Devgn’s directorial Runway 34. Bachchan’s next release comes in the form of Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus Brahmastra, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. The film is slated for release on September 9. Bachchan’s upcoming releases include Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai, Nag Ashwin’s Project K and Vikas Bahl’s Good Bye. Uunchai will see Bachchan share the screen with Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Parineeti Chopra, while Rashmika Mandanna is his co-star in Good Bye. Project K also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
