Naveen Bethiganti, the comedian who shot to fame with Pelli Choopulu, is turning a lead actor with Ramanna Youth, a film that he has also directed and written the story and screenplay. Aneel Jela, Vishnu, Thagubothu Ramesh and Srikanth Iyengar play other crucial roles in the film bankrolled by Rajini under Firefly Arts. The trailer of the film was launched by filmmaker Sekhar Kammula earlier today.

The trailer takes us through a group of party workers who campaign for a politician named Ramanna in a Telangana village named Ankshapur. The story unfolds as the workers are readying the text for a flexi to be placed in their village during a festival, where they sing praises on Ramanna and the designer ridicules them for their behaviour. Ramanna Youth is told through the eyes of one of the workers played by Naveen Bethiganti, who's committed to turning a leader someday.

Naveen even turns down a few small-time jobs suggested by his mother and feels he's made for bigger things in life. There's an innocence in his behaviour beneath all the arrogance and he spends a major part of the day with his friends engaging in pointless banters. The small-town comedy comes with a rustic charm, earthy visuals, fluid writing and a pleasing background score. Fahad Abdul Majeed is the cinematographer with Hrudaya Kaleyam fame Kamran scoring the music.

Edited by Rupak Ronaldson and Naveen, the film has sound design by Nagarjuna Thallapalli, costumes by Ashvanth Byri, K Prathibha Reddy with Lakshmi Sindhuja handling production design. The release date of Raamanna Youth will be out shortly.
